Vaser Liposuction Pre and Post-surgery Tips to Follow

We all desire to remove the unwanted fat deposits from certain parts of the body that do not respond to diet and exercises without involving any major pain and discomfort. Vaser liposuction has made that possible by using a special ultrasound probe which can easily break down and emulsify the fat leaving the surrounding tissues, nerves, blood vessels undamaged. There are other liposuction techniques too that can provide the best results, but its difference with Vaser liposuction is its ability to chisel out the six-pack abs, pecs and lats as well as other muscle groups. The ultrasound probe used in a Vaser liposuction usually breaks down the fatty tissues while keeping other underlying structures undamaged and also to promote a smooth result with a rapid healing.
Procedure Overview
In Vaser liposuction, an anaesthetic fluid is injected into the treatment area that also consists some parts of a saline solution. Now instead of using a manual cannula, ultrasonic probes are inserted into the fatty tissues to break down the fatty tissues gently. The vibration created helps the fat cells to loosen and ultimately emulsifies the tumescent fluid that has been injected into the body area. Once the emulsification starts, a small cannula is used to remove the liquefied fat from the area of treatment. Some local anaesthetic remains in the tissues and that helps in reducing the post-procedural pain for the candidates.
The Vaser liposuction procedure is thus considered gentler than any other traditional liposuction techniques. However, there are certain areas of the body that are well suited for Vaser liposuction like thighs, knees, abdomen, love handles, arms, chest, chin and neck. This liposuction procedure is considered gentler than any other liposuction technique. The best part of undergoing a Vaser liposuction is that it does not include a long recovery period and patients are able to return to work after 2-3 days after undergoing the procedure. However, the recovery period may vary from person to person but most of the patients experience slight discomfort, swelling and bruising within the first few days of undergoing the treatment procedure.
Pre-op Instructions for Vaser Liposuction
  • Before undergoing the procedure, the patients are asked to undergo certain examinations like blood tests to detect the presence of any complications. In addition to blood tests, the patients are also instructed to undergo a cardiology test to verify the patient’s health condition.
  • The patients are instructed to avoid taking painkillers like aspirin for two weeks before the surgical procedures to avoid the chances of blood clotting during the surgical procedure.
  • The patients must stop smoking and take alcoholic beverages at least 2 weeks before the surgical treatment as it impairs the healing.
  • Patients are asked to reach office early on the day of the procedure without wearing any expensive jewellery and putting on some comfortable loose clothes.
Post-op Instructions
  • Since Vaser liposuction is a least invasive procedure, so patients are able to return home on the same day but they are asked to bring someone who can safely drive them home.
  • The patients may be able to resume usual diet immediately. However, they must drink an adequate amount of water and other liquid contents to keep the body dehydrated. But any type of alcoholic beverages must be avoided before and after 48 hours of the surgery.
  • An adequate amount of rest is recommended for the first few hours of undergoing the liposuction is recommended. Patients can take mild walks on the same day or evening of undergoing the surgery. But activities like diving are not at all recommended before 18 hours of undergoing the procedure. Any type of vigorous exercises and strenuous activities can be resumed after two to four days, depending on the individual condition of the patients.
  • The surgeons also provide the patient with an elastic compression garment, which is specifically designed with super absorbent pads to provide a firm compression. This helps in the drainage of maximum residual blood-tinged anaesthetic fluid from the treatment area. Now discontinuing the use of such compression garments and binders too early may result in prolonged drainage of the post-procedural fluid. The surgeons typically instruct their patients to wear this compression garment for 3 to 6 days after following the procedure.
  • The last and the most important part is maintaining a proper hygiene by keeping the incisions clean is very important. Additionally, it is also important to take the prescribed medications on time to avoid any major complications.

Smaller Implants and a Rising Natural Aesthetic

Smaller Implants and a Rising Natural Aesthetic Trends come and go across many industries, and plastic surgery is no different. A “natural aesthetic” is growing in many practices where patients are requesting their procedures to reflect a more natural-appearing result. Whether it be a facelift, buttock augmentation and body contouring, or breast augmentation, many patients want to improve their look, but  naturally  so. When it comes to breast augmentation, this leads to a trend towards smaller implants.
