Can Obesity Treated by Liposuction in Mumbai

Liposuction is also popular as lipoplasty or liposculpture which is a common type of cosmetic surgery that helps in breaking down the fat from the body. The procedure is found most effective in removing the fatty tissues from abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck, chin, and upper and back of the arms. This fat removal procedure is performed through a hollow instrument known as a cannula which is inserted under the skin to loosen the fatty tissues. The liquefied fat is finally vacuum suctioned out from the body. People who choose liposuction typically have a stable body weight who are interested in removing some undesirable deposits of body fat from specific parts of the body.
Liposuction is Not a treatment for Obesity
However, liposuction is not responsible for the removal of any cellulite, dimples or stretch marks. The overall aim is to gain a better-upgraded appearance. Liposuction is also not at all a weight loss program or a treatment for obesity because liposuction removes the subcutaneous fat and not the visceral fat.
The visceral fat is usually located in the abdominal cavity that surrounds the internal organs. This type of fat can cause serious health issues including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and other severe medical conditions. Whereas, the subcutaneous fat is usually located below the epidermis layer of the skin. The subcutaneous fat is much harder to lose than visceral fat and liposuction is the appropriate procedure that can help to remove this kind of fat deposits. However, liposuction is usually the last resort for most of the people whose fatty deposits did not respond to diet and exercising. This cosmetic procedure is also responsible for body contouring.
However, patients who are affected by true obesity have some treatment options and the first of all is maintaining a healthy diet and exercise. Additionally, there may be some other cosmetic options too that can be combined with diet and exercise and that can be effective. So liposuction is not at all a treatment for obesity and in short, there is no way to fix to cure the condition. Ultimately, liposuction is designed to remove the fatty cells in specific areas of the body and it cannot remove the visceral fat that can cause obesity. Liposuction is only effective to treat the subcutaneous fat deposits.
Liposuction Procedure Overview
While performing this surgical procedure, the patients are administered with local or general anaesthesia depending on individual requirements like the area of treatment, the amount of fat to be removed, etc. The patients are then administered with desired liposuction techniques that may include-
  • Tumescent liposuction- In this liposuction procedure typically several liters of saline solution are used as an anaesthetic. This local anaesthetic used not only acts as a vessel constrictor but it also helps in sucking out the liquefied fat cells through small suction tubes. This is the most popular form of liposuction.
  • Dry liposuction– Here in this liposuction procedure, the surgeon uses no fluid for the fat removal. But this is not a common procedure since it consists higher risk of bruising and bleeding.
  • Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) – UAL is also popular as ultrasonic liposuction which uses an ultrasound aided cannula. This makes the fat melting easy and safe because the mild ultrasound waves usually burst the fat cells and then liquefies the fat, thus making it easier to suck out from the body. This procedure is perfect for treating any fibrous area such as male breast, back and in areas where liposuction has already been performed.
  • Power-assisted liposuction (PAS) – This liposuction procedure utilizes a specialized power aided cannula is used to remove the fat very easily.
  • Laser-assisted lipolysis (LAL) – This one is the latest liposuction technique that requires the use of a tumescent fluid in the treatment area and a laser-assisted cannula to loosen the fatty tissues. This is a least invasive procedure that involves the least bruising and minimum recovery time.
Immediately after undergoing the procedure, the incisions are covered up with bandages and the patients are provided with a compression garment to provide support to the new contour and also to speed up the healing procedure. The results obtained after undergoing a liposuction procedure are permanent but it is very important for the patients to maintain the achieved results by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Smaller Implants and a Rising Natural Aesthetic

Smaller Implants and a Rising Natural Aesthetic Trends come and go across many industries, and plastic surgery is no different. A “natural aesthetic” is growing in many practices where patients are requesting their procedures to reflect a more natural-appearing result. Whether it be a facelift, buttock augmentation and body contouring, or breast augmentation, many patients want to improve their look, but  naturally  so. When it comes to breast augmentation, this leads to a trend towards smaller implants. Board certified plastic surgeons  Dr. Daniel Maman of New York City  and  Dr. Richard Baxter of Seattle  have noticed this trend towards smaller implants. A budding population of patients are looking for enhancement in their breasts, but would like to be left with natural results, not something artificial. The surgeons discuss this trend and also why going smaller is medically a wise decision. A TREND TOWARDS SMALLER IMPLANTS One trend that seems to be on it’s way out is l
